Hard to blame them/us. Ford is really speaking to the enthusiast market with the GT, the GT350, and the ST. If they make a lightweight + decent power Miata/FR-S/BRZ competitor, everyone will truly lose their minds.

I get it, but when some asks I need a sub 24k hatchback, every one says fiesta st or focus st. There are used alternatives too, cooper s. 500 abarth, gti, and whatnot. Reliability isn't everything.

The Fiesta ST and the GTI have been getting all the love from reviewers recently. It's pretty great that we have so many good options in the segment right now, and the new Mazdaspeed 3 should be here before long, too.

I doubt if they'd ever make a sports car smaller than the Mustang (not sure if you can count the Ka Roadster), but if they did, the collective brain of Jalopnik/OPPO would surely implode.
